NVIDIA has just announced the successor to their Geforce GTX 900 series, the GTX 1000 series. With the code name Pascal, this new graphics card will be a major update as it should boost performance and efficiency by 2 times it’s predecessor. Just imagine you take an expensive Titan X and cut the power consumption from 250W to 180W, and cut the its price from $999 to $599 with twice the performance. Jen-Hsun Huang, the CEO of Nvidia claims that the GTX 1080 will be “twice the VR performance”, and 3 times the power efficiency of the Titan X. And seemingly, even the GTX 1070 will outperforms the Titan X of Nvidia’s previous flagship Graphics Card. Couple these factors along with a staggering price point of $379, Its impressive.Since these processes have been shrunk down to 16nm, the Pascal GPU will be extremely efficient which will trickle down to value driven models. Nvidia was seriously not holding back performance with this graphics card. Geforce GTX 1080 abd GTX 1070: Geared for Virtual Reality Nvidia is focusing their attention on virtual reality gaming, virtual reality gaming might become mainstream in a few years and open up a wider audience. Nvidia has a new technology built into all of their Pascal platforms, the simultaneous multi-projection technology. This new simultaneous multi-projection technology promises to fix all the distortion when using multi-monitor setups which means it can turn your multi-monitor setup into an immersive 3D experience! Nvidia has partnered with the HTC Vive’s team to unveil a Virtual Reality Funhouse experience which showcases a variety of VRWorks Software Development tools. It will be available through the Steam Store in the future. It will integrate visual, audio, and touch technologies that Nvidia has developed for creating more immersive Virtual Reality content. The bottom line is, The Nvidia Geforce GTX 1080 series will hit retailers on May 27th for $599, and the GTX 1070, June 10th for $379. This new graphics card will bring forth a new era of virtual reality gaming. Whats more exciting is what will poor AMD come out to dethrone Nvidia, and claim themselves the next king?
